Update - Thursday 28th January

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well.  This weekend is the RSPB's Great British Birdwatch.  Here is a short video to tell us what it's all about.Good luck!   I've also  included a clip about how to make a bird feeder at home as well as a paper bird craft.  Have fun and don't forget to take lots of photos, we love to see what you have been doing whilst you're at home.  Take care and see you all soon, Mrs Schmidt.

Other activities for this week.....

Hello boys and girls,

I hope you staying safe and keeping busy at home whilst we are not at nursery.  Here are some activities for you to do this week with your grown ups.  Please don’t worry if you are not able to do them all, they are just ideas.  (You may be busy doing lots of other things at home which are just as important).

Let's start this week with a workout!  We love the Joe Wicks 5-minute work out at nursery!  We have picked two for you to choose from.  Find a space and then click one of the pictures below.

This week we are thinking about shapes around us.  Everywhere we look there are shapes of all different sizes.

This is video for parents about introducing shapes at home.

Activity 1:  We’re going on a shape hunt!

You will need:  Some objects and your 'detective' eyes.

  1. Collect some objects from around the house and put them on a tray or if they are not moveable objects just have a good look at them..
  2. Look carefully at them.  Do they have curved sides or straight sides?  Are they long shapes or short shapes?  How many sides can you see?  Talk about the shapes you have found with your grown ups.
  3. Can you take a photograph of your 5 favourite shapes.  I made my photos into a collage using the pic-collage app.  Perhaps you might be able to do the same and then email your collages to us, we'd love to see what shapes you found.
