Dodgeball
Well done to the 30 children (5 teams) who played in Tuesday’s year 5/6 cluster dodgeball event at The Snaith School.
There was lots of accurate throwing, super catching and top dodging on show. A great time was certainly had by all.
An extra well done goes to Snaith Wasps, who won 4 matches and drew 1 match to top their group and win a place in the final. Unfortunately for Snaith Wasps, a super Rawcliffe team just came out on top in a very tense and entertaining final.
Thank you to Mrs Willden and her fab young leaders for organising another great event.
Plastic Bottle Tops - Recycle
We have signed up to the SchoolCyled Scheme by MYGroup. We are collecting plastic bottle tops! Please can you save yours and get your child to bring them to school, we have several recycling boxes located around the school to place them in.
For every kilogram of bottle tops collected, the school earns 250 Earth Tokens. Tokens can be exchanged for items of furniture, play equipment, signage or other recycled plastic items from their catalogue.
Payments
Please ensure that all Nursery and Wraparound Care payments are up-to-date. If you pay by Tax Free Childcare please check your account to ensure all of the payments are on there. If you think that a payment is missing please contact the office with details. If you pay by Government Tax Free Childcare it is essential that you email the office every time you make a payment with the exact amount, date paid and the child’s reference number.
Dinners should be paid for in advance of the meal being taken. Please make sure that any money owing is paid immediately.
No Nuts!
A reminder we have a no nut/nut product policy in school. If your child stays for packed lunch or brings a morning snack, please ensure these do not contain any nuts or nut product, including sandwich spreads, biscuits/cereal bars.
Thank you
Wraparound Care
We are very pleased that the Before and After School clubs are getting a lot of use. With this is mind it is essential that your child is booked into each session they need. Please check the bookings you have made by looking at the calendar on Arbor. This is the easiest way to see all the bookings. You will need to check each child’s calendar separately. If there are any missing sessions, please contact the school office to see if a place can be made available.

Y5/6 Parents Online Workshop – date for your diary!
On 20th March Dr Sarah Gladstone, Cyber Prevent and Protect Officer from Humberside Police will be delivering a workshop for children in Y5/6 and their parents. This will take place at 2.30pm in the school hall. Please do attend this event if you can as it will be a great opportunity to hear up to date information regarding helping children to stay safe online.
Traffic Incidents
Further to my email this week, if you are aware of any traffic issues, I urge you to report these using the dedicated reporting platforms below. I am increasingly concerned with regard to the traffic along Bourne Mill Balk Road. We value the relationship we have with our local residents; please can I ask for you to be polite and courteous to our local residents and not to block driveways. I have written to the highways and council, once again, to request their support to identify some longer-term solutions.

An Absence from School for Exceptional Circumstances Request Form, must be completed for all absences (not medical). https://www.snaithprimary.org.uk/page/?title=Attendance+%26amp%3B+Punctuality&pid=77
Please can I remind parents that school is not able to authorise any holidays during term time. Therefore, it is important to consult these dates before making any booking. Penalty Notice Fines are issued on a per parent per child basis for term time leave of 5 (10 sessions) or more consecutive days.
As school is in session during these times, if your child does not attend school due to an unauthorised absence, school will not provide work for this period of time as children are expected to attend school to undertake their learning.
Penalty Notice Fines are also considered, if a child has 10 sessions of unauthorised absence in 10 school weeks.
We are committed to improving achievement through attendance, and any pupil whose attendance falls below 97% becomes a cause for concern. Attendance below 90% is classed by the Government as persistent absence. If a child’s attendance falls below 90% we refer all cases to the Education Welfare Office at East Riding Council, who is likely to contact parents directly to give support and discuss the matter.
(Parent, in relation to a child or young person, includes any person who is not a parent of the child but who has parental responsibility for the child, or who has care of them).
