 This Week’s Attendance 97%

Snaith goes 90s musical event

What an amazing evening we had on Tuesday. It was fantastic to see our whole school community together having such an amazing time – thanks to our outstanding – all star cast! I am sure you will agree that the children were just magnificent as they sang and danced their hearts out.

Thank you for all of your very kind donations on the evening and online after the event.  The donation section on Arbor payments is still open if anyone hasn’t given yet and still wants to.  We have so far managed to raise a wonderful £2302 towards the cost of putting on the show.

Fond Farewells

Today we say a fond farewell to three highly valued and long-standing members of staff. Mrs Gilbert, Mrs Stevenson and Ms Howson have been such integral parts of our school community, supporting, inspiring and encouraging children to be the very best they can be. They have given so much to the children, the team and the school community. While we will miss them greatly, we send them our heartfelt thanks for all they have brought to our school and we wish them every happiness in their retirements.

Year 6

Firstly, I would like to congratulate our year 6 children on some truly wonderful SAT’s results released yesterday. Each and everyone of you totally shone! We are so proud of you. As you now leave to go on to Secondary School, we send our very best wishes with you always.

Punch and Judy Show

Reception, Year 1 and 2 were treated to a Punch and Judy Show today in relation to their British Seaside topic earlier in the year.  They all thoroughly enjoyed it and it was fantastic to see one of our past pupils return to deliver this.

Money owing

Can you please ensure all outstanding balances are cleared immediately in order for school to have all accounts settled before the new academic year.

Free breakfast provision

Bookings opened on Monday 13th July for September.  Please remember this is a free provision which will open at 8.25am.  Children will not be accepted after 8.35am and they must be booked on.  These times will be trialled initially.

School Uniform

I am certain that many of you will be purchasing items for the return to school in September. Please ensure that shoes and trainers are black, and children do not have colourful trainers. Similarly, we request red shorts or black leggings for PE days.  Shorts should be at least mid-thigh length please.  Thank you in advance for ensuring that we hold the highest standards of presentation.

TESCO Fruit and Veg grant vote

We have once again been chosen to be part of the vote to receive a grant from TESCO in Goole. This is to fund classroom activities over the next academic year for children to experience new foods and flavours, textures and cultures.  Depending on how many votes we receive we could receive £500, £1000 or £1500.  With yours, extended family and friend’s help we will hopefully be granted the top amount.  Please tell everyone you know that voting for our grant starts on the 3rd August.

Year 4 – Swimming – Ear piercing

Can we remind children that swimming will start for Year 4s in September for approximately 12 weeks.  Therefore, it may be best if any children having their ears pierced over the holidays do so as soon as possible as they must be able to remove them themselves for swimming lessons.

Leaving the premises

Can we remind you that the driveway is not for pedestrian use.  It is for the use of staff cars, taxis and buses.

This is for everyone’s safety.

PTA

The PTA and the school community would like to thank the following companies for their very generous donations: Squire Patton Boggs and Blueprint Homes.

A reminder that the PTA will be doing Bunday Monday from Monday 14th September with Year 6 going first!

Huge Thank You’s

As our school year comes to an end, there are so many people that I need to thank for all the time, commitment and support they give to make our school a truly wonderful place to work and learn. To the whole team of staff who work tirelessly to ensure everyone has the best experience possible, our dedicated team of governors and also PTA who give so generously of their time, together with all the reading helpers; our school shines so much more brightly because of all of you. Thank you

And finally… to the children who give so much and to you their families for all the support you give to our school, thank you and I wish you all a wonderful summer.

Kindest Regards

Helen Calpin

School clothing grant

Please be aware that the school clothing grant is no longer available as funding streams transition to a new model. For families who may need financial assistance, support may be available through the Crisis and Resilience Fund, which helps low-income households with essential living costs.  We encourage you to please signpost families to apply if you feel they may be eligible.

An Absence from School for Exceptional Circumstances Request Form, must be completed for all absences (not medical).  https://www.snaithprimary.org.uk/page/?title=Attendance+%26amp%3B+Punctuality&pid=77

Please can I remind parents that school is not able to authorise any holidays during term time. Therefore, it is important to consult these dates before making any booking.  Penalty Notice Fines are issued on a per parent per child basis for term time leave of 5 (10 sessions) or more consecutive days.

As school is in session during these times, if your child does not attend school due to an unauthorised absence, school will not provide work for this period of time as children are expected to attend school to undertake their learning.

Penalty Notice Fines are also considered, if a child has 10 sessions of unauthorised absence in 10 school weeks. If a child is collected mid-session for a term-time holiday, the whole session will be unauthorised.

We are committed to improving achievement through attendance, and any pupil whose attendance falls below 97% becomes a cause for concern.  Attendance below 90% is classed by the Government as persistent absence. If a child’s attendance falls below 90% we refer all cases to the Education Welfare Office at East Riding Council, who is likely to contact parents directly to give support and discuss the matter.

(Parent, in relation to a child or young person, includes any person who is not a parent of the child but who has parental responsibility for the child, or who has care of them).
