Snaith Primary School

Friday 27th March

Hello

We wonder what your favourite TV programme is?

Did you manage to dress up as a character from a TV programme or a film?

More importantly, did you manage to safely enjoy the sunshine?

For today’s challenge we would like you to become the teacher!

Watch out parents and carers, it is your turn to be home-schooled!

Can you remember who our artist of the term is?

Yes that’s right, it’s Quentin Blake.

Children if you want to teach your grown-ups about the life of Quentin Blake then take a look at the Quentin Blake PowerPoint below.

Your main task today children is to teach your family members how to draw like Quentin Blake!

Shall we start them off by learning how to draw Matilda?!

Now remember, we draw lightly in pencil and when we are happy with our picture we go over it with a black pen. You can add colour if you want to but you do not have to.

OK let’s watch this clip of Quentin Blake drawing Matilda:

Now parents and carers it is your turn!

Children join in and draw Matilda too. Remember to help your grown-up if they need any help.

Challenge Time:

Now we would like you to choose your favourite character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:

* Augutus Gloop

* Violet Beauregarde

* Mike Teavee

* Willy Wonka

We wonder which character you have chosen.

Now can you draw your favourite character in the style of Quentin Blake?

Parents and carers, you too!

Remember, we draw lightly in pencil and when we are happy with our picture we go over it with a black pen. You can add colour if you want to but you do not have to.

We cannot wait to see your drawings and your grown-up’s drawings too.
