Mr Clarkson and Mrs Millard's Class

Welcome to our class page.

Mr Clarkson’s and Mrs Millard's Class.

We are in Year 3 and have just entered Key Stage 2.

Our class teachers are Mr Clarkson and Mrs Millard and our teaching assistant is Mrs Hilliam. Mr Clarkson teachers us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Millard teaches us on Thursdays and Fridays.

We all SHINE in our class and we all try our best to achieve our full potential. We are fabulous friends to each other and work together as a team. Lots of exciting things will be happening this year so please keep checking our class page to see what we have been up to.

Our Mission Statement

In our class we wil work together as a team to support each other in life and in learning. We will respect each other's ideas and the classroom by looking after our belongings and keeping it tidy. Our classroom will have a positive atmosphere where we will always try our best and never give up, even when we find something really difficult. We will remember to smile! We will remember to SHINE!

Spellings will be handed out on a Friday  and tested the following Friday. Spelling books should be brought into school every day as there will be opportunities for the children to engage with and learn their spellings each day in class. It is essential that spelling books are brought into school on a Thursday so the children can be tested and given their new spellings.

P.E. and Swimming

We have P.E. every Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternnon. During the spring term we go to Goole Leisure Centre to support us in developing our swimming skills.

Please ensure that each item of your child's P.E. kit is named and in a named bag.

In our class, children are expected to bring in their reading books every day and take them home every evening. There will be opportunities to read these books on a daily basis and children may be asked to read to an adult at various times of the week. When a child has finished their reading book they need to change it and make sure that this is logged in their reading record. We ask that children complete 20 minutes of reading at home each day please.

We will read with our teachers in class every Tuesday.

In year 3, the children have a weekly homework task, either for Maths or Reading Comprehension. The homework is handed out every other week and needs to be returned on the following Wednesday. If the children would like any help with their homework they are welcome to come and see their class teacher about this on either Monday or Tuesday lunchtime and we will be happy to support them in completing it. We also set regular times table challenges which will be followed up in class.

If you want to practise your maths, why not take a look at some of the maths games here.
