Big Pedal 2019 & Walking to School Week
As the sun has begun to shine we are inviting our children and parents, where possible, to leave the car behind and walk, scoot (or cycle) to school.
As the sun has begun to shine we are inviting our children and parents, where possible, to leave the car behind and walk, scoot (or cycle) to school. While we are delighted to be part of the Big Pedal we are very mindful that our roads at the start and end of the school day are not always the safest to cycle on and therefore would prefer to recommend walking or scooting as part of this scheme.
This year’s theme is ‘Travelling around the body’, with pupils tracing their progress on a wall chart, learning about the human body and how active travel benefits their health as they go. Classes will be tracking their progress on a wall chart. Primary schools are competing against one another to make the most journeys.
